7.2/10

I had a pleasant week-long stay at the hotel, primarily due to its fantastic location just a short walk from major attractions like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The welcoming staff made my experience more enjoyable, but I found one receptionist's pressure to book tours quite bothersome. Also, the breakfast could use some improvement in variety, as it was quite limited.

Rooms
6.0
While my room was clean and spacious enough, I noticed some details that seemed a bit run down. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable, and the air conditioning kept turning off, which was annoying at times.
Service
6.0
The staff were mostly friendly and attentive, with some individuals really going above and beyond to assist me. However, Ernest, at the reception, wasn't as helpful and focused on selling tours instead of addressing my needs.
Location
8.0
The location was perfect for sightseeing, making it easy for me to explore the city. I loved being close to local shops and restaurants that added to the charm of the area.
Dining
6.0
The rooftop restaurant was a highlight for me, offering lovely views and tasty food. However, I found the breakfast options to be limited and lacking in variety.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had decent facilities, but I would have appreciated more amenities. The cleanliness was satisfactory, as my room was tidied daily.

5.0/10

My stay at the Avicenna Hotel had its ups and downs. I found the location unbeatable for sightseeing, being just a short walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. However, there were some maintenance issues and I encountered some delays in room cleaning that affected my overall experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room was comfortable, but it showed signs of wear and tear. There was a plastic toilet seat that was not fixed properly, and I noticed some mould in the shower. Despite this, it did have a little balcony which I enjoyed.
Service
7.0
The staff members I encountered, particularly Kazim and Ece, were really friendly and helpful. However, the housekeeping could be unreliable as sometimes they didn't come until late, and I faced issues like inadequate toilet paper supply.
Location
10.0
I loved the location! It was incredibly close to major attractions and made sightseeing super easy. I could just stroll to places like the Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern without any hassle.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant offered a lovely view of the Bosphorus, and I enjoyed the variety of Turkish breakfast options. However, the music played during breakfast felt more suited for an evening party rather than the morning.
Facilities
6.0
I appreciated the charm of the hotel, but the lack of a lift made it challenging for me, especially with my room on the second level. The hotel also had amenities like room service and tours assistance, which were handy.

I had a lovely week at the Avicenna Hotel, enjoying its fabulous location near key Istanbul attractions like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The staff were really good, particularly Enes, Kazim, and Hamza, who went out of their way to assist me during my stay. However, the rooms showed signs of wear and would benefit from some renovations. Despite this, the cozy ambiance and daily cleaning made it a pleasant retreat.

Rooms
8.0
I stayed in three different rooms, including a spacious Elegance room with a balcony, a decent Double room, and a compact Single room that was adequate for a short stay. While the beds could use some updating, they remained comfortable enough for restful nights.
Service
10.0
The service stood out as one of the best aspects of my stay, with every staff member being attentive and helpful. Anas, Ibrahim, and Huda were particularly impressive, checking in regularly to ensure I had everything I needed.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was unbeatable, just a short walk to must-see sites like the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, though the hill leading up to the hotel was a bit steep. I loved being in the midst of charming local shops and restaurants.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was a good experience featuring a variety of Turkish options. The homemade muffins and fresh melon were highlights, although I wished for a bit more variety throughout my stay.
Facilities
7.0
While the established facilities were decent, like the rooftop dining area with great views, some areas, such as the rooms, were in need of updates. I also appreciated the available amenities like room service and shuttle assistance.

I had a pleasant week at Avicenna Hotel Sultanahmet, thanks to its excellent location close to major attractions like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The cozy boutique atmosphere added charm, although my room was smaller than expected. While the breakfast selection was somewhat limited, the friendly staff greatly enhanced my stay. 🌟

Rooms
7.0
My room was decent in size but lacked adequate storage, which made it a bit cramped for my family.
Service
9.0
The staff, especially Enes and Kazim, were exceptionally helpful and attentive, ensuring my family's needs were met.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location was fantastic, just a short walk to the main tourist spots, making it ideal for sightseeing.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast had limited hot meal variety, but I did enjoy trying the local dish along with the rose jam, which was good!
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offers basic facilities and a lovely rooftop cafe with nice views, but they could improve on the breakfast options.

My stay at Avicenna Hotel was quite enjoyable due to its fantastic location near major attractions, but a few hiccups diminished the overall experience. The staff were really good, going above and beyond to assist with various requests. However, my room was smaller than expected, which was a letdown during the trip.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was comfortable, but I found it to be on the smaller side, especially for three people. It felt a bit outdated, which didn't quite match my expectations given the advertised four-star rating.
Service
9.0
The staff were truly amazing; names like Kazim and Elif stood out for their friendliness and attentiveness. They assisted me with bookings and dining recommendations, which enriched my experience significantly.
Location
10.0
Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, the hotel was within walking distance of all the main attractions like Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace, making sightseeing extremely hassle-free.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast offered a variety of options, and the staff at the dining area were lovely and accommodating. However, getting accustomed to the warm dishes was a bit of a challenge at first.
Facilities
6.0
While they did offer various facilities such as room service and laundry, it seemed like there was a lack of some expected amenities for a four-star hotel, such as available irons.
